I love the flexibility Mikel Arteta gives you. Struggling with Possession Game? Switch to Long Ball Counter for more direct runs to get the win 🙂 And I am pretty sure this guy had some crazy lag switch going on at the end so screw that guy

Morocco 5v5 + 3 Possession & Counter Pressing Game 🇲🇦 Dimensions: 18(W) x 28(L) Yards In possession, the team must build into a clear shape: 3 central players 2 wide players on the flanks The aim is to keep the ball and complete a set number of passes while maintaining that structure to score points. There are also neutral goalkeepers on each end line and one neutral player inside the pitch to support the team in possession. When the ball is lost, the defending team can press anywhere. This encourages players to react immediately, win the ball back quickly, and counter press with intensity. Coaching focus: Structure in possession. Quick reaction after losing the ball. Aggressive pressing. Winning the ball back fast. Save this post and follow us to get more. #SoccerTraining #FootballDrills #CoachEducation

So it’s actually not holding onto the ball for long that creates a counter attacking advantage Interesting 🤔

Dodge counter escalation! When chaining perfect dodges, the counter attack escalates. This makes dodge counters more destructive! (Last as long as you take no damage! Signified with green flare)

🔴Spain World Cup 2026 Camp 🔄 8v8 + 8 Possession & Counter Pressing Practice ⚽ One team acts as the central neutral team and is always in possession. 🆚 The other two teams compete to win the ball. 📍 When in possession, teams position players around the outside of the playing area. 🔥 If possession is lost, the team must react quickly and counter press. 🚀 The pressing team looks to win the ball and transition quickly. 🔁 After winning possession, they take up positions around the outside of the area. 🌐 Get access to more exclusive sessions here ➡️

You have to be extremely careful if you get caught on the counter attack if you use Overload. One through ball and you will be defending a 1v1 or have a 2v1 situation very easily as you can see here when I lost the ball. It’s a very volatile playstyle that is way more vulnerable than Possession Game and Quick Counter so please be careful when you are using Overload 😅

This ain’t little league man. This ball has to be caught. The conditions have been the same all game long. Have to make adjustments.

Please reference this when you are facing Overload. The best counter to Overload is Quick Counter and Out Wide so if you have a manager like Tuchel, Kovac, or Roberto Martinez you will be fine. You will see that you can easily catch any Overload user on the counter with ease once you catch them deep in your own half. Any manager with Possession Game and Quick Counter will be able to cover all 6 playing styles like Tuchel and Klopp so they will be the best managers in the game until a Possession Game and Quick Counter manager comes with a two link ups.
