So I did this crazy thing where I actually went back and listened to the segment of Pete Sweeney on 810. Here’s his full 5 minutes on the Josh Simmons topic. “Am I confident that he plays week 1? No. At this stage, I don’t think he will. But it isn’t ruled out. And I think that at least on the moves the Chiefs have made they at least think he’ll be back by week 3 or you would put that player on IR. And so based upon what we’ve seen, I think it’ll be Khalil Benson at LT and Jaylon Moore at RT … obviously it isn’t ideal but in this particular one, I’d be surprised if Simmons started week 1 and of course I could be proven wrong, too, right? I just think that’s where the Chiefs are at this stage.” When asked if there’s a chance he practices this week: “Yeah, of course. We see it all the time. But it makes it more difficult when the team isn’t abundantly clear what’s happening. You could see a limited practice and he gets on the field and tries and you’re kind of unsure…”
