Thanks for the tip - used this pad for that stretch - what a difference . Placed it between the machine pad and my shins - got an extra 3-4 inches ! Seat all the way back .

What about simply laying back flat on a bench to do it? Is there a limit or diminishing returns?

Awesome! They have 2 leg extension machines at the gym I go to but only one allows the legs to go under the seat more. Thanks for this advice!

Have not read the paper. With patients and trainees tibia pad thickness was determined after posture-body type analysis. long torso=shorter tibias, thicker pad. Longer leg lengths=smaller pad. Lateral patellar drift benefit from an upright seat to emphasize v medialis.
