while i agree that the budget constraints could be an issue, i disagree that SNK did her cheap. both stances have different characteristics to it. capcom went for a much more playful stance compared to SNK's more focused stance. makes sense to me since capcom Mai is supposed to be based on the old SNK games and the CotW is supposed to be the latest iteration of them so i just assume she's more mature in that game. i like that both are unique to each games and both are distinguishable from each other.
