I bet some of that hasn't changed that much, especially the back of the meat of the bat which was still hand shaved when I visited Gray-Nicolls a few years ago

Wow. Plus think of all the hard work we had to do to bash them in , oil them ,let them stand for a while and then only use them. I wound get a bar for Christmas and couldn’t use it for 2 weeks as had to get it ready. I grew up in the southern hemisphere. Now straight out the box
