Making progress with Chili, the very sad kitty who was left behind when his owners moved. He's actually a boy! He's still nervous and vocal but is starting to enjoy pets and attention. He's such a sweet, gentle boy - all he wants is comfort

Today was the first day he's moved in his kennel while I was with him - before, he'd just stay where he was, get tense and just cry while I interacted with him. Today we have purrs and headbutts!!

Chili had a vet check-up this week - he's around 4 y/o and has a clean bill of health! He'll be up on Petfinder soon, I think he'll be a lot less nervous in a real home. But if you want first dibs before he's listed, contact us:

I played his video on low volume and my 3 cats all came quickly looking for the source of the sound and seemed so concerned, as if I’m playing a kitten distress call. Poor boy bless him I hope he feels more comfortable soon

We have a similar looking guy. He was a street boy, trusted no one. Look at him now. 😺

I will never understand how people can treat animals this way. As if they had no feelings, as if they did not think their owners were family. It would like leaving children. It's just incredibly terrible. I'm so glad you're here for this sweet boy so that his heart can heal

Idk how anyone can do this to their pets, it makes me so sad and angry. The thought of my cats being left behind is enough to make me wanna bawl my eyes out

Its just tragic when cats get left behind or lose their humans. They really do suffer. Some dog owners I know that cats are aloof and unfeeling, I have to educate them in this erroneous belief because I KNOW, they form VERY strong bonds with their humans.
