Making something creative can be one of the most miserable, depressing events of your entire life! Young Frankenstein was not a surefire hit, in fact the first cut was terrible, and Mel Brooks was miserable, as was everyone else. Here's what happened next.

Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein (1974) Gene was tennis partners with Gene Wilder. After hearing Wilder was making a Mel Brooks comedy, Hackman asked if he could have a role. He was offered the blind hermit which thrilled Brooks. He nailed it, even ad-libbing the espresso line.

Gene Wilder’s only disagreement with Mel Brooks during Young Frankenstein (1974) was over the “Puttin’ On The Ritz” scene. Brooks didn’t think it would work, but Wilder fought for it and it became one of the funniest scenes in movie history.

Gene Wilder’s only real clash with Mel Brooks on Young Frankenstein (1974) was over “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” a scene Wilder wrote himself. Brooks’ test was simple: if Wilder fought for it, it stayed. He did. Cinema got one of its funniest moments.

Mel Brooks was way a head of everyone who was in the parodies satire business. Star Trek jokes in a Star Wars spoof. Brilliant

"Young Frankenstein is by far the best movie I ever made. Not the funniest - Blazing Saddles was the funniest, and hot on its heels would be The Producers. But as a writer-director, it is by far my finest." - Mel Brooks

Paul Heyman talks about his original plans for ECW's rebirth in 2006: "First move I made in the new ECW, I brought CM Punk up from OVW. I wanted Rob Van Dam to be the legend from the original crew, and then you sprinkle in all these other ECW originals as we move the new stars up into the spotlight of what would become a new version of ECW, which was at its worst a complete alternative to anything else that’s out there, and instead that it was not what WWE was willing to put on the air, and was amongst the most miserable experiences of my entire life, because it became very personal between me and Vince very fast"

I have no idea how they ever managed to finish this movie. 😂 Young Frankenstein was released in 1974, directed by Mel Brooks, produced by Michael Gruskoff, and written by Brooks and Gene Wilder. Wilder starred as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein alongside Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman and Madeline Kahn. Brooks shot the movie in black and white as a tribute to the classic Universal Frankenstein films, and they even used some of the original laboratory equipment created for the 1931 Frankenstein. The finished movie is hilarious enough, but the bloopers show just how much fun this cast was having behind the scenes. With that much comedic talent packed onto one set, keeping a straight face had to be nearly impossible. Young Frankenstein turned 50 in 2024 and is still considered one of Mel Brooks’ greatest comedies. After seeing the bloopers, I’m starting to think getting a usable take was a real challenge. How many takes do you think it took to finish this film? 😂

The diary that was written by a young girl, who was a victim of Epstein, was one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever read. What happened to her baby? Who took her baby? Where is that baby now? This girl's life was a living nightmare!

Jim Parsons admits he spent the first nine years of The Big Bang Theory completely miserable and trapped in obsessive OCD, declaring he wouldn't repeat it for any amount of money "I was sober for nine years filming Big Bang, and I look back now and realize that at some of the best moments of my life, I was miserable. I was not happy, I was stressed, and I felt like there were so many plates I was supposed to be keeping in the air." "I thought the success and the good things happening were only due to this overworking discipline. But I made myself miserable, and I wouldn't do that again for any amount of money." "It translated in part into a work ethic, but it was really just obsessive behavior. It was kind of OCD in nature. I had a list of things in my head that I had to get done in order to be comfortable and know that I could do my job right" "And that came at the detriment of friends, family, and missing tons of life."

A member of our team was hit 😔 The glass cut into his back and legs as he was running for the shelter. Fortunately his elderly mother was already in the shelter. PLEASE take the sirens seriously, they'll save your life.
