Dear Taliban, how would you expect the women in your families -- mothers, wives, daughters -- to get medical care from women, as opposed to unrelated men, if you ban women from medical schools?

Any sustainable social change must come from Afghan citizens. One hopes this is a spark for self-expression on behalf of more reasonable governance in the interests of Afghanistan and current life on the planet instead of repression in the illusory promise of heaven.

@rulajebreal Brave souls!

history will remember this act of our boys for ever. I am proud of you guys.

Solidarity and courage in practice.

Protest of all students is the best answer to this mediaval ban!

@gcinkara So sad seeing this unfolding. I earlier assigned Malala Yousafzai’s “we are displaced” for my students. We are all watching this crying as it unfolds.

Because of the way Twitter algorithms herd users into silos, I guess few Western viewers would be aware there's a very active Taliban Twitter allowed on here, where the decision to bar women medical & other university students is praised to the rafters

Well done male students for sticking up for your female would be colleagues
