Mayor Mamdani said Thursday that he wants all of New York State to subsidize the illegals being harbored in NYC. He also wants to raise taxes on the rich and corporations in NYC. Gov. Hochul has already rejected raising taxes, but Mamdani keeps pushing and demeaning her stance. NYC has wasted billions in recent years on illegals. Instead of helping deport them, Mamdani pledges to do everything he can to obstruct ICE from removing them from the US. Meanwhile, these illegals receive an insane amount of free benefits from NYC taxpayers. If NYC received more state funds, it would effectively subsidize illegals, since money is fungible. Deporting them would save NYC billions over time, free up housing and resources, and make the city much safer. As I’ve said before, it’s simple to fix NYC. We already know how. The problem is that homeowners do not need to sell their property, earn more income, or receive any actual cash for those bills to go up. A couple who bought a modest home in the late 1980s may now live in a property worth several times what they originally paid. On paper, they look wealthier. In reality, they may still be relying entirely on Social Security or retirement savings that have not kept pace with rising costs. That creates a situation where people can become “house rich but cash poor.” They technically own valuable property, but the monthly tax burden can become impossible to manage. Many states do offer relief programs for seniors, including homestead exemptions, tax freezes, and income based credits. But these programs are often difficult to access, limited by strict qualifications, or reduced when budgets tighten. The people who need the help most are often the least likely to successfully navigate the system. It is possible to support property taxes as a way to fund essential public services while also recognizing that the system needs reform for older homeowners living on fixed incomes. Those ideas can exist together. You can’t expect someone who’s 67, or 72, or 85 to keep paying the government $10,000-15,000 every year just to live in their own paid off house. What you gonna do when you have a leaky roof and the landlord can't afford to fix it ? Then what ? Cause that is what is gonna happen. The building will fall down all around you. But hey... at least you have a freeze on your rent.. right? Oh...and that does NOT mean that you don't have to PAY rent. It just means it won't be raised. If you want an example of why Australia is in such dire trouble and going backwards, just look at the absurd TikTok video these three complete imbeciles have produced. They are "celebrating’ the construction of 17 new homes—yes, just 17—at a time when new housing approvals are lower than they were 15 years ago, and when they continue to import hundreds of thousands of people into Australia, when the nation doesn’t have the capacity to build enough houses to accomodate them. To think, this is the caliber of people who have just been elected to Federal Parliament. They are absolutely clueless and would be lucky to know one end of a hammer from the other. Their incompetence is a very reason Australia has a housing & homelessness crisis. And their central planning will only make things worse. We don’t need the government building houses. What we need is for the government to cut migration, reduce red tape, and eliminate excessive taxes and regulations.

Now that the dust has settled, can you see how Mamdani helps us more than he hurts us? Yeah things are going to be terrible for NYC, but that place is already a hellhole. Now Trump gets to run on “Communism vs. Common Sense” in 2026. Mamdani just gave MAGA a golden ticket. Trump now has unlimited talking points and can draw more of the middle towards MAGA during the midterms. Now Trump can run on the Dems going full-blown Communist, which is a very easy sell. And what price do we Trump supporters have to pay for this? Absolutely nothing. Unless you live in NYC, it doesn’t affect your life at all. He is just a mayor of a city all of us avoid anyways. Trump now has unlimited talking points and can draw more of the middle towards MAGA during the midterms. Now Trump can run on the Dems going full-blown Communist, which is a very easy sell. And what price do we Trump supporters have to pay for this? Absolutely nothing. Unless you live in NYC, it doesn’t affect your life at all. He is just a mayor of a city all of us avoid anyways. Trump is still POTUS and holds all the cards. Mamdani supplies us with significant political ammunition, at minimal to zero cost.
