I own a construction company in North Carolina. All my employees are working. Why? I DONT HIRE ILLEGALS.

I’ll say it. The notion every guy on these sites that’s Hispanic is a hard working dude w/ DaVinci like skills that simply can’t be replaced is utter BS. Nope, jobs get done, that doesn’t mean they’re done well. Lots of VERY shoddy work by unskilled laborers way over their head.

Unfortunately, I was screwed by a contractor who used non-American workers. They messed up so many things during my home renovation that I had to hire a second contractor to fix most of it. And when I think about the things that couldn’t be fixed, it still makes me furious.

@MakeMinnyGA this happens constantly. good foreign tradesmen exist obviously, but in my area there are absolutely the majority who just don't have the training or the knowledge to build safe, code compliant buildings or renovations

@blakethecake12 @ImMeme0 They absolutely do. 10 yrs ago it was thought there was a slight drop in quality, but huge savings in cost. Now the cost is high AND the builds are junk. Worst of both worlds! But hey, raw labor is cheap!!

Hire American citizens, pay them a living wage and your construction company will be fine. Owners are so greedy that they hire illegal aliens and pay them under the table, avoiding taxes. Then, the illegal sends the money out of the country to their family. Deport them all!

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Most illegals are paid cash then will qualify for Snap, Housing subsidies, education & healthcare. American tax payers have been screwed over far to long.

Roofing, tree trimming, landscaping and cement are all done by Hispanic foreigners in Michigan. Only the foreman speaks English. It’s been like that for 15 years. We’re destroying our own economy this way - all that money goes south of the border.

It might take a little bit of time, but these positions will be filled. Americans are forced to go through TEMP services to get jobs while ILLEGALS are taking jobs meant for Americans. This has to stop and those hiring ILLEGAL labor should be penalized.

We simply can't build anything without illegal Mexican labor. Few people know that the Empire State building construction was paused for decades until enough illegal Mexicans got into the country, bc at that time in 1930 the country was about 90% White and had strict border control. Once we had enough illegal, 6-to-a-house Mexican construction workers, work could finally begin. Same story with the White House, St. Louis Arch, etc. It was impossible to build anything beyond a mudhut without illegal, 7-to-a-house Mexican construction workers.

Good! I hope these business feel the damn pain to. I feel no sympathy for anyone who used illegals or cheap labor and now are going to probably lose everything. Just removing CDL holders would free up so many good paying jobs.... Just imagine economy wide. Many will crash and burn. New, better ones will rise. It will suck. Embrace it. We all know there's a bubble. Until it's popped.... So let's pop it now before it gets bigger. It gets bigger every day. Will be more painful the longer we wait. “Low wage” because their living expenses were being subsidized by the taxpayers. This also affects the bidding process for contractors that try to follow the rules. There’s plenty of documented workers available, but you have to sub them out bc they run their own ship. It’s more expensive, but it’s a fair trade off. Get your paperwork straight, and come in the front door… To all the young men coming out of high school: The world is your oyster. Bring your work ethic to the table!

Illegal immigration dilutes the value of blue collar wages. Legal Immigration (H-1B) dilutes the value of white collar wages. The wages on both sides would be much higher if the market hadn’t been flooded.

Construction foreman's will pay under the table & hire hundreds of illegals so they do not have to pay taxes on them. It's a fact. I was a manager of a temporary labor company for years. They wouldn't take our workers because they used illegals to pad their pockets. The illegals had no insurance. So if they got hurt on the job, they would let them go so they wouldn't have to file a claim. It's one huge scandal and it's at every construction site across America and been going on, in particular, since Obama became president.

Great, now Americans can get their jobs back. I hope the contractor was arrested, too. We builders have been dealing with this shit for decades. Well done 🧊
