Some of my favorite memories of playing games with my Dad. I have a marble notebook (do people still use those?) that 2nd grade me filled cover to cover with a fan fic about my best friends and I being isekai'd up to the Marathon to fight the Pfhor and save the world. I drew the Marathon symbol on every piece of homework I ever turned in. I tried to learn Warhammer 40k so I could play Tau just because their symbol looked like the Marathon logo. I might have been a little obsessed. I can't express how important this IP is to me. And while I'm a sad that extraction shooters aren't really my thing, so my ability to enjoy it is limited, I care so much about seeing this title succeed, so that more people can fall in love with the thing that captured my imagination as a kid. Yeah, we were all confused about this game being yet another extraction shooter, but Bungie really delivered an incredible experience. You were right to be hesitant, 100%. But I think we're all seeing that Bungie is stepping outside of the usual extraction shooter tropes to create something that's unique. If someone tries to give you a hard time for revising your opinion based on new information, tag me and I'll yell at 'em for you. Come play Marathon!
