He’s an old vet who’s forgotten more than that young soldier has learned. Hopefully this was a learning experience for him.

I am veteran. I don’t care about stolen valor. There are more important issues this veteran should care about like mental heath crisis, homelessness and addiction issues within the veteran community.

Man was obviously pissed and offended when the other guy said he was lying. His years of service was questioned disrespectfully and he had to pulled out his ID to prove he earned his shït for real🎖️

Yeah, I had on my regular clothing (a jacket) some collectors pins and patches. I was questioned by a service member and several of his buddies came over to stand behind him with their chests puffed out and fists under their biceps as a show of strength. They were harassing me and I simply replied, "I'm not looking for any trouble, you can move along and find someone else to harass." One of his buddies said something along the lines of "Well you found some." He brought down his arms and was pumping them down as if he was going to start throwing punches. I said to them, "One moment." I got out my wallet with my current military ID, pulled it out and said, "So, what you're telling me is you're going to harass a current member of the military of stolen valor for collectors pins and patches on his civilian clothing. Am I right?" The one pumping his arms pushed the original guy into me and literally ran away. Everyone else stayed, and actually apologized. It's sad because a lot of people are out there and judge you before getting to know you. If we approached our life with one of trying to understand instead of trying to judge, I honestly believe our world would be a lot better for everyone.
