This update adds a dashboard preview toggle, stronger organization policy controls, and live streaming for background shell commands. It also fixes sandbox trust, pinned agents, configuration handling, MCP authentication, and background subagent approvals. Release Notes 1.0.36 — 2026-09-17 Features • New Dashboard preview setting lets you hide the selected-session preview panel on the dashboard. • New policy setting allows organizations to disable hooks that are not from managed policy. • Background shell commands now appear as live task rows with streaming output. Bug Fixes • grok --sandbox no longer exits when accepting folder trust. • Pinned agents in the dashboard no longer jump when their activity changes. • Swift code with triple-quoted strings now highlights correctly in the pager. • Mixed-case reasoning_effort values (e.g. "xHigh") are now accepted in config.toml. • Fixed accidental empty agent sessions when pressing Enter right after sending from the dashboard. • Fixed default TUI sessions so an [agent] set in config.toml is respected instead of always using a builtin plan. • MCP plugin authentication now succeeds for servers that declare a client ID in their manifest. • Shell command approvals from background subagents are now shown instead of being silently rejected.
