Managed to play some games in the Knockout mode on GOALS tonight. Really enjoying the update. Definitely feels more rewarding to build up play rather than counter super quick with a through ball. Responsiveness is on a level I have never experienced in a football game before!

My favourite bit about the game is where my opponent does nothing but spin in circles over and over again because defending is rubbish and you can do fuck all about it Also love the games made so that when you pass it’s always to your opponent Warra game

As if it wasn't hard enough to defend already, they made it even harder. This might be the end of the ride for me.

Hand holding in every other football game, for years. Of course it takes time to learn how to actually defend.

I'm in for manual defence. But it should be semi. You can't control 4 defenders at the same time! I lose games, cause my ai defenders don't close gaps, They just stand there while I'm closing other gaps or following the main player with the ball.

Good. I don't want the AI to be closing gaps, tracking runners, doing all the defending for me. As player stats improved, that AI power becomes stronger and then it is just AI simulator...like FC is.

I guess that's where we differ, I'm not asking them to do everything for me, but just standing there pisses me off.

@AlexionIQ Give you a clue use you're right stick to change in to a defender 😉

@AlexionIQ doesn't help when you've got 3 other gaps to fill and your players are just standing there.

What do you want from the AI?

The movement of the uncontrolled players is aimless, both on the offensive and the defensive end.

Then I don't think GOALS is for you. If you want the defensive AI to track runs, do the defending for you, then FC it is.

I like it because its feels like your are actually playing against another person, rather than playing against the AI in FC

Defense is worse tho containing with teammate doesn’t reward u he stand still and watch Before the patch was a better game 100% they killed it imo

Favorite game out right now. Team is up to 79 overall. I love how much it leans on user skill over anything. However certain defensive ratings seem pointless

I want to love it so much, but it's just a dribbling game, not a passing game at the moment, which is a shock considering Valerio and Kurt are game designers. The attacking AI movement isn't good at all. Defending is brilliant. So much potential, but a long way to go.

Update feels good overall, still moments of dead defensive ai not picking up on runs leaving holes but overall a w of an update imo
