Barrier islands are for beaches, dunes, trees and mangroves to shield the mainland. Not homes.

Amazing how well homes built to new hurricane standards fared in the storm.

Key, as in an island, surrounded by water on all sides. Why are they building on these things?

No home should be built on barrier islands.

Mike, you should see the damage in Vero from a tornado. It’s bad.

It looks like there's more damage there than on Siesta Key.

This is the key in my town. I'm trying to rack my brain with landmarks as to where on the key, but I can't figure it out. It's definitely the Sarasota county side though.
