How about Weevils Baseball taking sole possession of first place in the GAC after a doubleheader sweep of NWOSU? Arkansas-Monticello trailed in both games at one point (7-2 in Game 1 and 10-4 in Game 2), but this offense didn't quit to get two wins by the score of 17-8 and 15-13 respectively. Aidan Garrett homered 4 times on the day, 3 in Game 1 and 1 in Game 2 with 8 total RBI. Chaz Poppy homered 3 times on the day, 2 in Game 1 and 1 in Game 2 with 7 total RBI. ‼️ MUST ADD FOR PRACTICE ‼️ Olympic style 3x3 is quickly becoming one of the best 'SSGs' for overall development. It's really fast paced, and every possession is played with a ton of purpose. Players play with maximum spacing, build endurance WITH THE BALL and, if done properly, SHOT QUALITY is the games' biggest emphasis. In the Olympics 👇🏼 The analytics behind the actions they deploy are much different than standard 5 on 5, as well. Shooting 25% from 3 is the equivalent of 50% from 2 so there is a HEAVY emphasis on making and defending the 3. This means there is a ton of switching and coverage solutions/counters to switching defenses with NO TAG AT THE HOOP. The game translates BEAUTIFULLY to 5 on 5. 3x3 rules are a simple constraint to make and defend the 3 ball at a much higher level using '3 man' actions. IMO, a must add to our 5 on 5 teams. Cherki’s response? “I told him, ‘Give me five minutes. You won’t need to make any changes.’” Substitutes were sent out to warm up at the start of the second half 48 minutes in, Cherki seen it and scored within five minutes. Four minutes later, just before the hour mark, he struck again. From there, he completely ran the show and ended up with the Sky Sports Man of The Match Award. If you judge talent like his only on what he lacks off the ball, you'll risk missing out on what he offers on it!
