This is great. I hope this keeps happening because the News media is untrustworthy. Mainstream Media is dead. Radio is dead. News is dead. Those of the media who complain are part of the last gasps of air before darkness.

But researchers like Jenna Russell are finding more ways that human and AI texts differ. " We took about 10,000 human written short stories from published anthologies of stories, and we generated synthetic versions from different AI models." "Then we extracted these very fine-grained features. So things like: how many supporting characters are there in this story? Or: is there a resolution to the plot?" It was possible to identify AI generated stories from these narrative choices alone, even while controlling for stylistic tells. "Once we had all these features, you can train really simple logistic regression type models. And you're able to still very easily distinguish between AI stories and human stories."
