Blessing Albert Ebhodaghe, has allegedly directed drivers operating in various motor parks across the council to always wear Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cap, with those who refuse reportedly facing a ban from entering the parks. This is deeply concerning and deserves immediate clarification from both the council chairman and Governor Monday Okpebholo. If the report is accurate, it raises serious questions about the use of public spaces for political purposes. A motor park is a place where citizens earn their livelihoods; it is not a political party office. Drivers should not be compelled to display political allegiance as a condition for accessing a public facility or carrying out their legitimate businesses. The people of Esan West deserve accountable leadership, respect for their rights and government that earns political support through performance not pressure.
