SHOCKING!!! Attn, Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo We are aware of reports that the newly elected Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State Hon. Blessing Albert Ebhodaghe, has allegedly directed drivers operating in various motor parks across the council to always wear Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cap, with those who refuse reportedly facing a ban from entering the parks. This is deeply concerning and deserves immediate clarification from both the council chairman and Governor Monday Okpebholo. If the report is accurate, it raises serious questions about the use of public spaces for political purposes. A motor park is a place where citizens earn their livelihoods; it is not a political party office. Drivers should not be compelled to display political allegiance as a condition for accessing a public facility or carrying out their legitimate businesses. The issue is particularly significant following Governor Okpebholo’s recent directive to newly inaugurated local government chairmen to work towards delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. There is nothing wrong with political parties mobilising supporters, but government officials must distinguish between party activities and their constitutional responsibility to serve all citizens, regardless of political affiliation. Hon. Ebhodaghe is chairman of the entire Esan West Local Government, Edo State not chairman of a political party. His administration should be focused on improving roads, security, transport infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare, education, employment and the general welfare of residents. Governor Okpebholo should clarify whether he authorised or supports such a directive. If he did not, he should publicly reject it and ensure that no resident is denied access to a public facility because of their choice of clothing or political expression. Public office should never become an instrument for imposing political conformity. The people of Esan West deserve accountable leadership, respect for their rights and government that earns political support through performance not pressure. The Governor and council chairman should address these reports transparently and put the interests of Edo citizens above partisan symbolism. #GetInvolved

₦6.2 BILLION RELEASED, BUT IHIAGWA to OBINZE ROAD REMAINS A NIGHTMARE In the 2025 Imo State Budget, ₦6.8billion was allocated to the Construction of the Naze (Poly Junction)–Nekede–Ihiagwa–Obinze Road. By Q2 2025, ₦2.24 billion had been released. Another ₦4 billion was released by Q3, bringing total releases to ₦6.24 billion. Yet, this road remains a nightmare. Last year, some rehabilitation work was carried out along the Naze (Poly Junction)–Nekede axis. But from Muruako Junction down to Umuchima by Lafarge Junction, only stone-base concrete was applied. From Umuchima towards Obinze, after the FUTO Main Gate, only red mud was applied, leaving the stretch in a terrible state. Even portions that have been constructed around Nekede are already deteriorating, with large potholes on the road. This is a nightmare for commuters and residents! We call on is Gov Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State Government, and Imo state ministry of works and infrastructure to provide the details of how funds disbursed to this project was used. #FixOurRoads
