My next book - a journey through child development from prenatal to age three - will be called Wonderment…and for good reason. There’s not a lot that arouses awe in us as adults. After a point we’ve mostly seen it all. We’ve been there and done that. But there once was a time that each day held pure magic as the world revealed itself to us for the first time. New sights, sounds, tastes… Which leads us to this little one, shared to IG by mahrooniaziii, who looks on in wonderment at her very first sight of snowfall. What do you think she’s thinking? What a treat to experience the world anew through the eyes of our children.

ITS NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM EXCELLENT WORK DONE BY MINISTER BABRA CREECY The TL is full of negative stories. The R21 was one of the worst, full of potholes. Was Very dangerous to drive at night. Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has been doing excellent work fixing this and other major roads. SANRAL are replacing all the street lights with solar. She did not waste time when she dissolved the board of the road accident fund. Credit where credit is due. @BarbaraCreecy_ WELL DONE MINISTER IF THE GNU. Sidenote: she is a listening minister, any complaints against departments on her portfolio are handled. Well done minister. I posted in Jan about OR Tambo airport. Toilets and escalators. The CEO of ACSA had a press conference the next day to resolve the issue because the minister wanted a comprehensive update within 14 days. All escalators working and toilets now have full time staff.

Protesters at Saint Annes police station last night. I have seen in the Echo today that politicians have come out condemning the next protest organised by the same person on County Road next week. Country Road is one of many areas in Liverpool that has undergone massive demographic and cultural change in a short space of time. Many of the locals are upset that this has been done to their home without consulting with any of them. It’s not that they were ignored. They were never part of the decision-making process to begin with. So they are taking to the streets to make themselves heard. And now they are being silenced by the very people that did this to them.

Your baby needs a little tummy time daily. Yesterday I wrote about crawling, noting that with sleep recommendations now (wisely) advising infants sleep only on their backs, babies are spending less and less time in a downward facing position - making it all the more important that parents build well supervised tummy time into their daily routines. Tummy time has many benefits. Primary among them, it strengthens the back, neck and arm muscles that help with holding up the head, rolling over, sitting and crawling. It also helps to decrease the incidence of flat spots on the back of your baby’s head. And it can help relieve gas and constipation, just to name a few. You can begin short, supervised periods of tummy time as soon as your child is born. These earliest sessions often begin on mom’s chest - but can be done on other safe surfaces as well. Begin with 2-3 minutes at a time and work your way up. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends increasing the frequency and duration of these sessions to the point your baby spends a total of 20-30 minutes a day by the time your baby is 7 weeks old. Be forewarned that, especially early on, tummy time is a workout (and therefore not always well liked by some children) - but with time and experience will help to develop the muscle strength your newborn lacks. At Uber a big problem for design teams and engineering teams was design source of truth. No one knew what the app truly looked like, so weekly a bunch of designers would get into a meeting room and check that the engineers correctly implemented the figma designs that they made Now with coding agents throughput of changes has increased an order of magnitude and it has become impossible to manually keep up. Here we used the Revyl CLI to create a flow of every state in the Uber design, by navigating our mobile use agent on an cloud iOS simulator. This is something that would have taken a team of designers tens of hours to recreate manually; All done in less than an hour asynchronously with a simple prompt. Yes, this is a National Highway. While heading towards Mumbai, it took us two hours to travel four kilometres between Royal Garden Resort and Fountain Hotel on NH48. On a Tuesday evening. With no religious festivals, no accidents, no extraordinary rains, nothing. This is simply the state of the highway and traffic every day. In the financial capital of the country. The road doesn't have potholes. The potholes have a road. Chandrayaan-3 will have a more stable landing on the moon than cars have on this patch. It is the same thing, every after year, for decades. Anyone who travels through this patch knows the nuisance that it causes everyone. The infamous Fountain Hotel - where you lose 2 hours of your life that you can never get back. Dear Nitin Gadkari ji, I appreciate your work. Once you are done attending conclaves, I request you to travel on this highway with your officers on any day of the week, at any time you choose, and just experience the torture that ordinary people go through on a daily basis.
