Took my daughter to SA for her 18th birthday last year. I wanted to experience the apartheid musium etc with her as the final thing we do before she became and adult. We were there for three weeks and still day dream about it. The welcome, the humility, kindness is beyond anything n we’ve ever experienced here in the United States. I agree that it’s heartbreaking to see the level of poverty, however we felt at home.

Some of y’all have self-hatred. Be proud of your history here and your African heritage. One doesn’t take from the other. I’m a proud son of the enslaved and Mother Africa, but I’ll never claim Europe or Native American roots over my own people like some of y’all do.
