The most astonishing and irritating statistic you will ever hear. Who does removing the child benefit cap really benefit? Well it is NOT hard working British citizens. Only an incredible 0.8% of those getting extra money from this will be both British and working. That means 99.2% are either NOT British or NOT working. So we are paying for foreign citizens to have more children or people on welfare to have more Children. It’s a policy that perpetuates the doom loop we are in. It should be 100% the other way around. I decided I want to try for baby number 7 because well, because we're on welfare. So you don't actually have to work until the baby turns 7, and our youngest is turning 2, so I decided it's time to try for another baby so that way we don't actually have to get off welfare” She’s right I verified the loophole, it’s real Federal SNAP work rules have exemptions for caring for a child under 6 years old And she actually makes more money the more kids she has… Benefits increase with more children, larger household size means higher grants for food, cash assistance and Medicaid eligibility The age cutoff seems to be 6 so she probably does it a year early as a buffer
