Similar problems on the BYD. The Chinese brands look good on the surface but are poorly designed and built. Anybody buying Xpeng or BYD is wasting their money.

This is a Chinese businessman driving in the same direction too. A lot of these Chinese car brands do not have the experience of time to build reliable products. And many as is typically known about Chinese companies, simply don’t care about branding. Many of these people going Chinese now will regret it (asides a few good brands like BYD and Changan). They are the guinea pigs the Chinese will use to learn and hopefully deliver better products in the future.

🇨🇳 Chinese brands seem to be replacing Western brands in China Just like Chinese-owned Luckin Coffee replacing American-owned Starbucks in my tweet below You see it with lots of other shops too Here's Maia, a Lululemon/Alo Yoga clone, but with sizes specifically for Asian women, which the Western brands are, well, too Western to be able to niche in to Then they also make them a bit cheaper than the Western brands but with same or higher quality And many to most Chinese customers will just switch over to the Chinese brand You have to think on a geopolitical level what this means, we can put all the tarrifs we want on Chinese products, but they'll do the same back to us, and meanwhile one of the biggest markets for Western brands with 1.4 billion people is lost to us when we get too expensive / low quality for them Again these are not cheap rip offs, it's real brands with quality materials that they're switching over to The same with GPUs of course, we can ban China from using ASML chip making machines, but they'll just develop their own and by then we've lost them at customers I don't have a dog in this fight but it's very interesting to see the macro economics and politics actively happening on the ground!

I often post one of dozens of surveys conducted by Harvard, Latana, and others showing that Chinese people report they are 'satisfied' with or 'approve of' the Chinese government in Beijing. A lot of data also reports on Chinese satisfaction with their democracy. Folks, ignorant about China, often exclaim that Chinese people are forced to respond in such ways. This is a ludicrous cope. Here is a video of people who pay for a service to be filmed crossing China's Palace Museum, in front of Chairman Mao, carrying flags of the PRC. There are thousands of such videos on Chinese social media. Their love of China reflects my own 13 years of talking with regular Chinese people, everyday. The vast majority of Chinese people ADORE the PRC and the CPC too. These are FACTS.

We saw, first hand the economic disaster of China 🤣 (sarcasm) on our evening cruise before walking to Nanjing East Road—- think Times Square—-yet another testament to the Wild development of China! What was farmland is now an economic powerhouse! On top of that, well over 90% of the Chinese people are happy with their government! Why are the Chinese happy? At the ongoing 2026 Beijing Auto Show — the world’s largest auto show, I met a very special Belgian fan, Marnix! He’s been following Chinese EV brands since 2019, bought his first Chinese car in 2022, then upgraded to a second one. This time, he flew all the way from Belgium to Beijing, just to volunteer at the NIO stand and show foreign visitors why Chinese EVs are amazing. Beyond NIO, brands like BYD, XPeng, Li Auto, Geely and Chery are all turning heads throughout the venue. This year’s show has set a new global record for scale, spanning 380,000 square meters across two venues, with 1,451 vehicles on display — including 181 premieres and 71 concept cars.

An Indian jewellery brand The Olio Stories run by two girls named Aashna Singh and Sneha Saksena, recently used wrong map of India in their new collection video and named the collection as ‘Aazaadi’. The map shows Kashmir as a separate state/country and Ladakh inside China. The brand sells its products in Pakistan via Dubai and is known to collaborate with many Pakistani influencers. On one hand India says no ties with Pakistan, meanwhile Indians are selling their products in Pakistan. On top of that these women are distorting Indian map and promoting separatism. Why GOI is not taking action against such brands? This is just one example, there must be so many like these who are doing their business in Pakistan. These kind of brands should be shut down with immediate effect. Also NIA India should investigate the people who are running this brand, they might be spies like Jyoti Malhotra.
