You can monetise grievances. But eventually the story starts shifting and that’s the problem with lies… the details keep changing because fiction needs maintenance while truth doesn’t. And that’s the thing about the internet. It remembers. And unlike carefully curated narratives, receipts don’t age.

It’s not about Blackrock, or CBDCs or the filthy broken fiat system - it’s about an alternative to that. A lot of people can point to many broken things in our world. And the root of what is broken is because of the broken money system. The money system is broken. There is death and destruction because of a broken money system and what this technology represents is something different than that. It’s an alternate to that. And that’s what makes it unique and that’s what makes it valuable.”

Nobody camped 8 days for a pocket watch. They camped for the right to own something with an Audemars Piguet logo for $400 instead of $30,000. AP built their brand over 50 years by making sure most people can never buy one. Waitlists. Relationships. Six figures minimum. The wall around the brand IS the brand. Royal Pop punched a hole in that wall. $400. Walk in. Buy it. Except so many people wanted through that hole that Dubai cancelled the launch. Liverpool called police. Bangkok had queues through entire malls at 6am. NYC had overnight camps in Times Square. Swatch says it's not limited. They'll make millions. And people still camped. Because it was never about the watch. It was about standing on the other side of that wall, even for a day.

Seeing comments that I’m “controlled opposition,” an industry plant or a shill is wild to me. You can try and do as many good things as you can for people and still be judged, outcast, and criticised. Some people will always choose to see the negative, becoming so skeptical that it sadly turns into cynicism. But the best part is you don’t have to engage with that energy. None of it has to enter your orbit. You just keep doing you.

Matt Damon participated in Howard Zinn's great "The People Speak" series, and read out a great speech by Zinn about the importance of civil disobedience, which is as apt today as when he first wrote it in 1970: "I start from the supposition that the world is topsy-turvy, that things are all wrong, that the wrong people are in jail, and the wrong people are out of jail. That the wrong people are in power, and the wrong people are out of power. I start from the supposition that all we have to do is think about the state of the world today, and realize that things are all upside down. If you don't think, if you listen to TV, read scholarly things, you actually begin to think that things are not so bad. Or that just little things are wrong. But you have to get a little detached, and then come back and look at the world, and you are horrified. So we have to start from that supposition—that things are really topsy-turvy. And our topic is topsy-turvy: civil disobedience. As soon as you say the topic is civil disobedience, you are saying our problem is civil disobedience. That is not our problem…. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is the numbers of people all over the world who have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. And our problem is that scene in All Quiet on the Western Front where the schoolboys march off dutifully in a line to war. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world, in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That’s our problem."
