Many people still doubt the claims that PlayStation games include any required firmware updates on disc so here is a proper clip of me copying a firmware update off my AC Mirage PS4 disc without the need of any internet:

If I ever get into a situation where I have to install one on PS5 I’ll record it there too, I’ve been trying to leave mine un-updated but there’s some things I wanna do sometimes that requires me to reconnect it to the internet lol

You have to stop arguing with concubines on Twitter. The disc firmware update feature has always existed on PlayStation since PS3. Developers are required to ship their games with latest firmware on disc for console compatibility.

This is since PS3. All BD comes with a FW that matches the SDK that was built in. If the system has a newer FW than the one in BD nothing happens otherwise it requires newer FW update from the (internet, USB or BD)

Very simple: PlayStation games refuse to run on any OS version that's older than the SDK they were built with. This is for stability and to make sure people don't stay on old firmwares. So yes, games *have* to include the firmware they were built for, otherwise they wouldn't run.

Literally no one doubted this. Firmware updates are literally required for some games to even run.

quick warning i was able to spoof the firmware version shown on my ps4 and make it display hen 13.52 this is only a temporary visual memory patch it does not update the real firmware and it is not a new exploit or jailbreak there is currently no publicly released full exploit for these versions so do not trust screenshots or videos alone if someone claims they have one ask them to release the exploit or provide technical proof that can be independently verified video and script
