Marc Andreessen explains why he prioritizes satisfaction over happiness “I don’t believe in balance. I think people are wired differently so it’s hard to generalize this kind of thing. But I am much happier and more satisfied when I’m fully committed to something. So I’m very much in favor... of imbalance.” Marc continues: “I don’t think happiness is the thing to strive for. I think satisfaction is the thing… Satisfaction is a deeper thing which is like having found a purpose and fulfilling it. Being useful. That I’m fully delivering on the gifts that I’ve been given, that I’m net making the world better, that I’m contributing to the people around me, and that I can look back and say: ‘Wow. That was hard, but it was worth it.’ I think that generally seems to lead people to a better state than pursuit of pleasure and happiness.” And on the relationship of money and satisfaction: “I think Elon would be a great example of this. He’s a guy who from the day he started making money at all just plows it into the next thing. I think money is definitely an enabler for satisfaction. It was like a billion dollar short or something. And, Elon was like, “Why would you do that? I think it’s safe to say that 2025 was a very interesting year. And I think I see it very differently than most. You probably saw a lot of headlines about AI and tech stocks. While that was a big story, I don’t think it was the most important thing. The big story in the investment world was the depreciation of the value of fiat money and how that impacted the price of gold. That’s how 2025 looked through my eyes, at least. I’m curious to hear if you see things the same way.

Chappell Roan delivered a speech at the Resonator Awards in LA, saying, “The only thing that matters is community.” “I feel very uncomfortable being told that I’m a good person. I think that has to do with some type of Christian guilt or something. But it’s cool when people you really look up to think that you’re a good person or that you’re doing good things. I only know what to do because I see other people in my life doing good things and listening to trans people who need representation and money for healthcare and rent. I kind of think that it’s just an artist’s—and anybody who has money—it’s kind of your duty to give it away. I don’t really know what else there is to harmony other than giving.”

DEADLINE: And I feel like anytime there’s a big queer project like this, it seems inevitable that people are going to be speculating about your sexuality. Or just accusing you of gay baiting. How does it feel having to separate your personal from the professional? STORRIE: I think there’s so much energy that is coming at us with the rise of this show, and for me, at least, I think it’s important for me to have a little bit of separation from the character in the show. All I can really say is that I love Ilya, I love the community that this is a part of and that this caters to. I think that’s so much more interesting and valuable than doing just another run-of-the-mill, straight story. Who I date, who I sleep with, who this, that, whatever, I’m gonna keep that to myself. I need to get better at english (laughs) at least to the point where I can make small talk or chat casually, I think that would be a breakthrough, but english is so hard😂😆 👤: duolingo 😂 🐰: from duolingo to malhaeboka, i think I’ve tried every single english-learning app out there, but the most important thing is to stick with it! 👤: everyone says, I agree, that even if you don’t feel comfortable speaking, your pronunciation in singing is very very good 🐰: that’s… i’m glad there’s that at least☺️ 👤: is that something you would do it just syllable by syllable or is it just your ear is good for that or? 🐰: yeah I think my ear is good for that kind of thing but at the end of the day, it’s not korean, it’s a foreign language for me and I don’t want native speakers to hear me speak their language and find it uncomfortable or dislike it in anyway, so I’ve personally worked very hard on it☺️

What that money is worth determines the value of what you’re holding. That’s why currency valuation is so critical, and why I think people need to pay more attention to it when thinking about the broader economy. Nikhil Kamath

.Erik Voorhees: It’s actually good, from the Trojan horse perspective, that Bitcoin was traceable enough for traditional institutions to tolerate it. “When Bitcoin came out, everyone called it private, thought of it as private. It was referred to as anonymous in every news story. And in some ways, it is very private and very anonymous. But the truth is that it’s also extremely trackable and traceable. It is not private in reality. And the question is, should it have been from the start? And at first I thought, yes, it should have been more private. And that was a mistake in its design. However, I think if Bitcoin had been anonymous truly from the start, like a Zcash or a Monero, it would have had such antagonism from the state. I don’t know that the state could have snuffed it out, but they would have tried much harder. And I think it’s actually good, from the Trojan horse metaphor perspective, that it was traceable enough that the traditional institutions could tolerate it. They’ve never liked it, but they could at least tolerate it because there is some traceability. And that has allowed Bitcoin to grow. And I think in its shadow, that other crypto assets are actually anonymous is very healthy. The strength of cryptocurrency as a concept in society, I think, is served best when Bitcoin itself is not perfectly private, but other assets are. That is a very difficult thing, I think, for the state to combat. And that decentralization of attributes is really, really crucial. So, yeah, I’m very glad that there are other coins that are private. I want there to be more of them, and I want them to be more popular. And I think it’s okay that Bitcoin itself is not.”

It was referred to as anonymous in every news story. And in some ways, it is very private and very anonymous. But the truth is that it’s also extremely trackable and traceable. It is not private in reality. And the question is, should it have been from the start? And at first I thought, yes, it should have been more private. And that was a mistake in its design. However, I think if Bitcoin had been anonymous truly from the start, like a Zcash or a Monero, it would have had such antagonism from the state. I don’t know that the state could have snuffed it out, but they would have tried much harder. And I think it’s actually good, from the Trojan horse metaphor perspective, that it was traceable enough that the traditional institutions could tolerate it. They’ve never liked it, but they could at least tolerate it because there is some traceability. And that has allowed Bitcoin to grow. And I think in its shadow, that other crypto assets are actually anonymous is very healthy. The strength of cryptocurrency as a concept in society, I think, is served best when Bitcoin itself is not perfectly private, but other assets are. That is a very difficult thing, I think, for the state to combat. And that decentralization of attributes is really, really crucial. So, yeah, I’m very glad that there are other coins that are private. I want there to be more of them, and I want them to be more popular. And I think it’s okay that Bitcoin itself is not.”
