Absurd decisions like these will continue to happen until rule changes are made and common sense is brought back into the game. Intent should be a major factor in decision making, but it isn't. Players and teams are penalised for accidental actions and it's not right.

What is the point of VAR. Scrap the box and just let the ref have a look. They don’t make any decisions. Ideally get rid of all of it. Was nice FA Cup week when you could celebrate a goal.

I do not understand how VAR gives this, but they overturned a pen for Spurs (ironically v Bournemouth) as the contact wasn’t deemed enough and VDV supposedly initiated it. The player here kicks the ball away from the GK and goes to ground, contact is coincidental. Fuck VAR
