If you had a Nintendo 64, you played this epic classic. Super Mario 64 turns 30 this year. It was the first Mario game in a 3D world, and remains the most successful game ever for the Nintendo 64 with over 11 million (!) copies sold. Being a huge Super Mario fan from the NES era, seeing Mario come to live in a 3D world was incredible. Once again, the goal is to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, a battle for the ages. To this day, it's my favorite Mario game. Did you play (and finish) it back then?

Well, modder Esppiral is setting out to answer exactly that question with his upcoming mod for our Mario 64 DC port, featuring enhanced geometry and textures, as well as Mario Galaxy's fresnel lighting! While this footage is still extremely early, and represents a work in progress, it is being brought to you by the same mad Dreamcast scientist who remastered Dead or Alive 2 and brought Xbox assets and effects to our port of Grand Theft Auto 3!
