Mariupol is located in Ukraine. It is currently under illegal Russian occupation. It is also estimated that tens of thousands of citizens were killed by the Russian Armed Forces during the siege of Mariupol. The city was almost completely razed.

Once Mariupol fell I knew it was over for Ukraine. If they couldn't hold the city at the peak of their military prowess, what chance did the country have after its military was ground down by Russia in the following months?
