YOUR LIFE IS A REFLECTION OF THE DECISIONS YOU'VE MADE In life, what happens to you is often a result of the choices you make, more than where you are, where you live, your gender, or how old you are. This means that decisions (not location, time, gender, age) decide destiny. Your decisions play a big role in determining the quality of your life. Your condition can be great, but making bad choices can superimpose a good condition that can produce or lead to negative outcomes. Your life right now is a reflection of the choices you've made. i.e. you are where you are as a reflection of the decisions and the choices you have made. Marriage was never designed to be a battleground for control. Love is not a license to change or control your spouse. There is no verse in Scripture that authorizes you to treat your husband or wife like your oldest child. God established divine order in the home, but that order was never meant to become a weapon. When you fight over headship, you’re fighting against God’s design. Real love releases control and replaces criticism with praise. The Bible commands husbands to love their wives and wives to reverence their husbands - not manipulate, dominate, or belittle them. Responsibility is the key to greatness - and it is also the key to a healthy marriage. Blaming your spouse for your emotional frustration will not fix your relationship. Accept responsibility for who you have become and for the quality of your marriage. If you do not take happiness into marriage, you will not find happiness in marriage. The Apostle Paul declares in Ephesians 5:33 that husbands are to love and wives are to reverence. Reverence means to stand in awe. When love and respect meet, heaven touches earth in your home. We are their legacy this is their anthem. What lyric from Good Citizen hits you the hardest? One of my favourite lines is 'kill my flesh not my spirit' because it reminds me that you can have all your material possessions, your house, your reputation, your family even your health taken from you. But no one can ever take your spirit from you. Unless you give it away. And your connection to your soul and spirit is the most important asset you have, as it connects you with the Divine. BTW there is both literal meaning and sarcasm throughout this song, for anyone that hasn't picked up on that yet.
