This is the correct take. People who disagree are the same people who don't understand that love is something you actively do. It's something you work on every day. Falling out of love isn't a thing. Giving up is what you did.

Some of our BEST memories are from when we first started out. We didn't have much, but damn, those were the very best days. Tomorrow is our 37th wedding anniversary.

Great advice! Building a life & overcoming obstacles together is the best way to ensure a long, happy marriage.

As someone who "got a life" and is now trying to "get a partner" -- this is a hard way to go about it, for sure. When you built it all yourself, you only know how to build by yourself. & overcoming Avoidant self-sufficiency requires... a lot of patience, vulnerability, and growth. And none of these are comfortable or easy.

Building a life together instead of trying to fit someone into one sounds like a much better idea to me.

I absolutely 💯 agree. My husband and I have been together since I was in high school, and our experiences have made us stronger together. It's the fights and life's battles that you win together are what build your foundations. It's learning to work together as a team that you become one.

The best thing we did was get married and move away from family. It made us depend on each other early in our marriage. Thankful for my wife of almost 38 years!

Married in early 30s. Wouldn’t change anything in my life. But definitely recommend getting married early 20s. My 20s were a mostly wasted decade. Thank God, he brought me through largely unscathed by my own stupidity.

Been there, done that AND soon celebrating 45 years of fun and adventures.

Married at 20 & 21… going on 22nd anniversary & this has also been our experience. It is much easier to build a life with someone than to build alone & finagle someone into your established structure later on. We’ve been through it all & know we can make it through anything.

The age of Sayyada Aisha (RA) was 19 at the time she got married to Prophet (SAW). Stop justifying what you are not sure of.
