Been seeing a lot of tweets and articles about how I claimed to do my own stunts for ‘The Rajasaab’ but a body double did it as there’s a photo circulating online of a stunt artist who was my stunt double on the film. Firstly, I do action because I really enjoy doing action. I’ve been a sporty girl since a young age and I enjoy physically challenging my body and learning new things. Secondly, there’s always a stunt double on sets even when the actors are doing their own stunts as the action director gets them to do the rehearsals of the shot as they’re the experts, before getting the actor to do a final shot. Or in the case of certain shots when they feel it’s too risky for the actor to do it- they feel it’s better for a professional to execute the shot so you’re not doing anything too risky without knowing how to do it correctly. So here’s some bts of me doing some fun shots & a big hug to my stunt double who taught me how to execute them right :)

Star Wars pioneered so many special effects that we take for granted today. When filming the destruction of Alderaan in Star Wars, the effects team at Industrial Light & Magic used a surprisingly simple practical effect. The planet was a painted sphere suspended in front of a black backdrop. To create the explosion, they rigged the miniature with pyrotechnics and filmed it with high-speed cameras at a faster frame rate so the blast would appear massive and cinematic when slowed down. One interesting detail is that the explosion was partially achieved using gasoline and powdered cement. The cement gave the blast a heavier, planetary look rather than a quick fireball. Because the miniature exploded outward so quickly, the slowed footage helped sell the illusion of an entire planet tearing apart in space. REPORT: "Subway surfing" is becoming a growing trend among teenagers who will "surf" and run on top of moving trains. The trend is common in New York City where teens risk their lives just for some views online. One Manhattan mother is suing Meta, TT and the MTA after her son died while trying to pull off the stunt. Instead of putting all the blame on herself for her own son's stupidity, Norma Nazario says "social media and the MTA" are to blame for "failing" her son. Her son Zackery who apparently bought a ski-mask off TT for the stunt, died in 2023 while subway surfing on a Brooklyn-bound J train over the Williamsburg Bridge. Zackery was "surfing" the train when he got smacked by a low beam in the head. He then fell between the subway cars before getting run over by the train.

Arizona: A great look at the terrain crews and Fire Managers are working with on the Horton Fire. Full suppression tactics are being used, including firing Ops to box the fire in, which also reduces exposure for resources in the steeps. A community meeting will be held tomorrow in Payson to update the local residents on the fire. It is suspected to be human caused and an investigation continues. SW Area IMT 1 will assume command of the fire. Thanks to the subscriber who shared this breathtaking view of the Horton Fire. 🙏 The fire was mapped at 1,074 acres.

Ivan Edeshko, the Soviet basketball player from Belarus, whose famous full-court pass set up Alexander Belov’s winning basket against the United States in the 1972 Munich final, was 81. Christoper Nolan famously prefers practical effects over CGI (somehow, “Oppenheimer” has no CGI). He took the approach to the next level in “Interstellar”. Instead of digitally recreating a corn field, Nolan spent $100,000 to plant one and sold it for a profit afterwards. Why practical effects? Nolan digitally enhances his shots but prefers working on location and with cameras. “It’s more fun for me and the actors,” he said of his approach during an interview with the BBC. “There’s nothing more dispiriting than showing up to a green screen. Knoxville was spotted carrying a rainbow fan and waving a Progress Pride flag along the parade route, while Steve-O rode through the festivities in his underwear aboard a makeshift shopping cart float decked out in rainbow flags. After the event, Knoxville described taking part in WeHo Pride as a "dream come true," thanking LGBTQ+ fans for supporting the franchise over the years. These stories of Black people being the "real indians" is dangerous because it erases the Native Americans who are still here. Yes, there are Native Americans that enslaved Africans. There are Africans (Buffalo Soldiers) who slaughtered Native Americans. There are also many more moments of solidarity like the Natchez Uprising and the 1521 revolt in Santo Domingo. Also the rebellion of the Black Seminole nation, one of the most overlooked partnerships in Native American/African American history. The Seminole Nation of Florida had one of the most amazing alliances with freed Africans. They formed partnerships and deep relationships with Maroons/ freed Africans. Both groups fought for freedom and the right to exist in peace, away from the colonizing forces trying to stomp them out. Any argument that erases these stories is ignorant babble and should be dismantled and ignored. Happy Native American Heritage Month 🪶🪓🍂
