Not a good start to our interaction. Some very poor assumptions on your part. 1. The gentleman approached me at an event at the Capital. I didn't approach him. 2. When you reject the treasury of Merits, you reject 4000 years of truth, not just Catholicism. This is a concept that we get from the Torah, and Orthodox Jews also believe in it, just like Abraham, Kingn David and Jesus Christ and the Apostles did.

All merit is through Jesus Christ. Man cannot accomplish a single meritorious act separated from the sacrifice of Christ to the Father. Whatever merit is shared amongst men is accomplished through God. The blessed Mother of God, Mary ever Virgin merited more than all creation.
