Early specialization Combined with: Early intensification You got parents pushing their preadolescents' kids into playing and practicing one sport all year round and then, thinking they're getting a leg up, getting them involved in "performance" training at the same time. The problem is the performance training isn't run, hop skip and jump that kids really need, rather it's resembles the training program of a college athlete. We all know what happens with early specialization, but early intensification isn't as prevalent yet. But imagine an athlete never reaching their peak because they skipped right over all the basic training methods and went right into the advanced stuff too soon. What you get is stud youth athlete who fizzles out in so many ways down the road. Kids need need fun. They need movement, they need variety and diversity, and they need to be engaged. They need to run, jump, hop, skip, climb , crawl, and wrestle. Get that right, and you set the kids up for future success whether they're elite or recreational athlete. #LTAD

Zvichapera.... My favorite song from Gandanga. Reminds me of that morning in October 2004 before Tsvangirai Treason Trial. The previous night 9 of us had clandestinely been spray-painting porsh suburbs of Harare. Unfortunately the group that had gone to Borrowdale was intercepted by armed police. We heard the gun shots & knew something was wrong. That night a truckload of riot police came to UZ looking for me & others. I survived by scaling up the roof of New Hall. I decided to walk to town and escape. I think I was with Gladys Hlatshwayo who I believe had been assaulted. Along the way, we got news that Philani Zamchiya had been abducted & tried to escape by jumping off a moving truck. He had been taken to a hospital in the Avenues area. I remember seeing his lifeless body as they were moving him from an ambulance. I didn't think he wld survive. The next task was to find out what had happened to the guys who had gone to Borrowdale, at the same time had to organize the youths who were supposed to go to the treason trial. The whole CBD was teeming with riot police. Harvest House was barricaded. I was later picked by Dennis Murira. He was with Ndira and Dyke if I remember well. They were playing Mukanya and all I needed was a short nap. Fortunately the holy waters and Solomon's leaves were also available to sooth my soul that early in the morning.... Memories.

“Every month for the past several years, I’ve ordered a double dose of hormones and testosterone I save all the extra pills for my best friends, my closest lovers, and my worst enemies. Some may call it an upset, but Chadron St simply calls it another day at the office, beating the #9/#11 Western CO Mountaineers on Saturday (11/8/25) in OT by a score of 27-24. Chadron got it done in all three phases of the game. The Eagles’ offense presented a balanced attack, gaining 111 yards and 2 TDs passing to go along with 148 yards and 1 TD rushing. The Eagles’ defense held the Mountaineers to a mere 38 yards rushing, had 7 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks, and came up with a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. The most impressive part of Chadron’s team on Saturday had to be its special teams. The Eagles’ special teams blocked two field goal attempts and blocked a punt. Punter Brodie Eisenbraun stuck one punt inside the 5, drew a running into the punter penalty for a 1st down, and had an amazing run off of a high snap, which while it was not a 1st down, it shows what a stud he is. Then there is Kicker Wilson Yee. Yee made an impressive 50 yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Then, in OT, with ice in his veins, Yee made the biggest kick of his collegiate career, drilling a 47 yard FG to give the Eagles the win. This incident represents an egregious breach of constitutional order, parliamentary procedures, and basic standards of human dignity, committed by the former Speaker of the House of the People - hereinafter referred to as the Ex-Speaker, pursuant to Article 8(4) of the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure, which stipulates that once a motion of no confidence is tabled by at least one-third (1/3) of the members, the Speaker is suspended from duties pending resolution. On the floor of Parliament, before the eyes of the nation and under the pretense of authority no longer lawfully held, the Ex-Speaker ordered the deployment of armed police forces into the Chambers. This act alone is a blatant violation of Article 69 of the Provisional Constitution, which guarantees the independence of the legislative branch, and a direct assault on Articles 5 and 10 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of the People, which prohibit external forces from interfering with parliamentary deliberations without the explicit consent of the Chamber. Even more shocking was the verbal and physical abuse targeted at two honorable Members of Parliament: Hon. Mohamed Ali Omar (Cananuug), who lives with a disability, was publicly humiliated by the Ex-Speaker, who shouted on floor of the house of people “You disabled person, sit down.” Hon. Dahir Amin Jeesow, a senior elder and respected legislator, was scornfully told: “You are an old man, sit down.” Such degrading, discriminatory, and dehumanizing language constitutes a serious violation of Article 11 of the Provisional Constitution, which prohibits all forms of discrimination and upholds the dignity and equality of every Somali citizen, regardless of age or physical ability. It further breaches Somalia’s international obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, both of which Somalia is party to. In an even more disturbing development, journalists covering the parliamentary session were forced at gunpoint to cease live broadcasting under the orders of the Ex-Speaker, and several were later assaulted and had their equipment destroyed outside the chamber. This constitutes a flagrant violation of Article 18 of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of expression, press, and access to information. It is a direct attack on the fundamental tenets of democracy and press freedom. Furthermore, sitting Cabinet Ministers - who are also members of Parliament - were observed intimidating, threatening, and verbally assaulting fellow MPs under directives believed to have originated from Villa Somalia and the Prime Minister. This not only breaches the principle of separation of powers but also violates the ethics of parliamentary conduct and the oath of office enshrined in Article 106 of the Provisional Constitution. This letter serves as a formal demand to the international community, democratic institutions, and human rights organizations to: o Publicly condemn the actions of the Ex-Speaker and his accomplices in government; o Impose political and legal sanctions on those responsible for these violations of democratic order and fundamental rights; o Demand a full investigation into the abuse of power and mistreatment of both MPs and journalists; o Ensure protection of parliamentary independence, media freedom, and the rights of all Somali citizens, regardless of age or disability.
