I’ve never shared anything in that article with anyone before. Only bits and pieces. Maybe 5%. I couldn’t even acknowledge it myself until a couple days ago. If you read it all the way to the end you should feel inspired. The beginning and middle is quite dark but the truth. The ending is where this new chapter starts. Fuck all this shit My trauma will no longer control me. I’ll rip it out piece by piece until there’s nothing left. I refuse to give up and I refuse to live a bullshit life. I spent years building a mask that didn’t serve me. Not only did it not serve me but it actively harmed me and sabotaged me. And no the mask didn’t do it. I did it. I did it because I wanted to. But I don’t want to suffer anymore. I’m tired of it. I quit.

Someone shared this with me on Tele and asked for my opinion. I was able to read some parts of it, not the full thing, but I think I got the gist of it - content doesn't matter much anyways unless it was written with full clarity and precision, it's more about the underlying energy and a Straussian look at it, with this kind of pieces (which is also my style of writing sometimes). Have to say, I can certainly relate to parts of it, it's funny how every human's experience is very very unique but when openly shared like this, it's all universal at the bottom of it. We're all children of life, not much can separate us. And since you're clearly perceptive and have desire to be in a better place, I have no doubt you'll not take this the wrong way, so I'll share my pov, if you'd kindly accept (or just discard). When all of the problems, experiences, hurt and conditioning teaches us we're worthless, something is wrong with us, we're fundamentally broken, etc - that takes a hold of us. All of the actions (including the tries to get away from all of that) stem from those underlying beliefs. Which inevitably just cause us to repeat the same felt experience again and again: If you try to prove that you're not those, or trying to get away from being that way - you're (unconsciously) agreeing to them. This is why the "solution" to the "problem" is often found not exactly inside the problem (when it comes to human affairs), but one step before all of it. It's about not accepting, completely rejecting the conditioning - being pure, cleansed from them. This is done without any action or effort, often - but just through seeing. Seeing there's nothing wrong with you fundamentally, seeing you're not worthless, there's nothing to be shameful of. I know all of this sounds like gay fucking self-help book quotes and might not even resonate (you can understand intellectually but your body/heart might not accept them at first), but they're the truth. Reading the post, it felt like an overpouring of these feelings and beliefs. I don't mean to say there's anything wrong with that at all - again, it just shows you're perceptive and a true seeker. It's a testament on how much you believe in yourself and how much you love yourself, even if it might feel like the opposite (but just look at from the eyes of another, these should be obvious). If you want to experience it yourself and go through a "change" - it starts by allowing this exact thing, before anything else. Seeing it, letting yourself feel it, allowing it in yourself to see how much you actually love and care for yourself - even if no one did, even if that love got kinked at times to the point of harming your own self. But it was all love underneath, all along. This is something I'm also learning, it's something we all need to learn and remember and live because it simply is the truth of life. I deeply admire and respect your openness and the heart-felt effort to be in a better place, brother. I see you and honor you. I'm sending love and wishing you can see that there is nothing wrong with you, you're worthy and valuable and lovable. You'll see, experience and feel it some day for sure, there's no doubt about it. I absolutely agree with everything you’re saying. But what I’m struggling with it’s not understanding a solution for the situation accepting it and then being willing to change it. if we define ourselves by the problem or respond with inside the paradigm of the problem than that won’t actually lead to a solution that will lead to a sophistication of the problem. It will make it more complex without actually solving the underlying problem. The key is how can I see above the “problem” and address the actual issue? That i’m trying to figure out. At the end of the day I put this out to force my hand and make sure i can’t go back to my old ways. The truth is out and in doing so it changes. And if it changes then i can’t create and opening for real permanent change. All I’m doing right now is in a sense giving up and trying anything i can to get me out of this situation and trusting that it will work out in the end somehow

Just finished the article. I also had a very abusive childhood, and your concept of “masks” that we wear to hide the negative feelings/beliefs associated with that really resonates with me. Thank you for sharing, and I hope doing so helps you heal. It has for me.
