Massive Alligator vs. Softshell turtle! Because I am told that the Internet doesn’t have the attention span for a 12 minute video of an alligator attacking a turtle (which was itself condensed from nearly an hour of footage), here is the attack in all this awesomeness, in two minutes.

And apparently the chances of survival for a big softshell turtle that loses a leg or moderate to high. They have a slow metabolism, which helps.

This is really hard to watch... it's not the length, it's the content. I'm tearing up.

24 seconds and it's left behind.

alligators become exhausted very quickly. if the turtle can withstand a few minutes of attack it has a chance to escape.
