This is what is looks like when things aren't going well because your are trying to show off. Slow down and do it right.

Not bad, but there’s a lot easier way. Just make a stripe of solder paste on each row (just like you did with the flux) and then place the IC in place and heat it up with a heat gun. No need to touch a soldering iron anywhere.

That kind of precision is satisfying to watch. Makes you appreciate how much skill goes into something most people never even see.

What temperature does the solder you’re using melt at? Same kind for all the other work too? Amazing soldering work, thank you for the posts.

For PCB soldering, 330–350°C (626–662°F) is a moderate starting range for the soldering iron. The right setting depends on the solder type, tip size, and board. For soldering wick, start around 350°C (662°F) with flux and a clean chisel tip. Use light pressure, then lift the iron and wick together while the solder is molten, never pull a stuck wick, as it can lift the PCB pads.

I always thought that somehow I was going to cook the IC with too much heat. And I didn't have that slightly bent tip: just the point or a chisel. Gotta have the right tools!
