It doesn't always work. Let me prove by counterexample. Counterexamples: ²√16 = 4 but 1+6-2 = 5 ²√36 = 6 but 3+6-2 = 7 ²√49 = 7 but 4+9-2 = 11 ²√81 = 9 but 8+1-2 = 7 ³√27 = 3 but 2+7-3 = 6 ³√64 = 4 but 6+4-3=7

Teachers will see she like this and give you half a point 😂

Do the same for the square root of 169 🙄🙄🙄

I know the answer - 5 and this works. Question is does it woek for every real square or cube?

Math hacks like that usually hide the real steps that actually matter.

³√125 = (1+2+5) - 3 ³√125 = 8 - 3 ³√125 = 5

Try it with 36, 49, 81...

Now.. try to workout square root of 97 that way 🤣

125 cube root is 5
