Traci Lords says she made about 20 adult films while underage and earned "maybe $40,000." Her tapes sold for $50 or more each. She was 15 when she started working as a nude model, with a fake ID that said she was 21. When the agency asked if she was 21, she says she answered, "Uh-huh." On July 17, 1986, the scandal broke. That day X-Citement Video owner Rubin Gottesman told an undercover officer: "We're all going to lose a pile of money on the tapes we have to trash." Distributors threw the tapes out themselves, afraid of prosecution. Two days later the LA Times ran: "Sex Film Star Not Facing Charges." Lords was never prosecuted. Gottesman was. In 1989 a federal judge gave him one year in jail and a $100,000 fine. Then came the appeals. In 1992 a court reversed the conviction. In 1994 the Supreme Court ruled 7-2 that prosecutors must prove the seller knew the performer was a minor. In the video below, she talks about why she kept her name, and what she had been through before she was 18: "I was a little girl... I'd been raped, I'd been molested, I'd been abused." She was a child. Who should have known?

On days like this, I’m reminded of the late, great Rush Limbaugh. Because he said it perfectly: “It’s NEVER going to be time to panic! Because we’re NEVER going to give up. We’re not going to give up on America.” Republicans lost because they stood for nothing. They were so afraid of losing their power that they did zero work for the people who put them there. So what do we do now? First off, we don’t freak out or complain. That will get us nowhere. Yes, America just gave Democrats a chance, but they’re going to fail. Their policies won’t lower your gas prices or fix this economy. They’re only going to make the problems worse. And in two years, the voters will judge them for it all the same. This isn’t the time to panic or throw in the towel. Not even close.

One of the most popular Hamas figures, Miriam Farhat (Um Shahada), filmed herself sending her sons on Islamic suicide missions to murder Jews as “human sacrifices”. She appeared on Hamas TV and celebrated when they “succeeded.” She said she wished she had 100 sons to sacrifice the same way for Allah. This is why Israel built security barriers on its borders.
