17. First the parenthesis: 8 - 5 = 3. Then we multiply this by 5, the result is 15. And then we add 2. Result is 17. Everything else is wrong.

I hate these questions because almost everyone knows the math, they just don't know the rules. Write it like this and people get it. 5(8-5) + 2.

If it was a Divide or multiply between the 2 and 5 then it’d change, but since its addition the order goes Parenthesis Multiply Add So 8-5=3 5x3=15 2+15=17 2+5(8-5)=17 (You can literally fill out the problem on your phone and it’ll auto fill the answer at 17 even)

Answer is 17. Don't you do the multiplying first after you subtract in the parentheses? So, 5(3) + 2
