Microsoft has a nag to be ahead of its time, like this windows recall. Great idea. The issue with Microsoft is not idea, is execution. They miss the total package and the talents and org that allow it to execute properly. Same issues currently with legacy car makers and EV.

Reality is actually having bought and used one, and knowing as cool as it looked in concept videos, in practice it was very slow and buggy, almost no apps were optimized for the dial screen, and it had more drawback than benefits. The concept was good but wasn’t implemented well

The real truth is Microsoft is a prototype company. They come up with great ideas but it never succeeds. Skype = flop , Zune = flop, project natal = Flop , directX12 = Flop , Microsoft duo = Flop , Microsoft studio = Flop , and etc..

Microsoft could do it but it didn't. Windows Phone was the best I owned. I still have a Lumia 730, broken but alive.

Microsoft Duo was two screens next to each other, not comparable with the fold/duo big screen. However, it is a cheap solution and would be an insteresting form factor inbetween the regular phones and the real fold phones.
