Max Kellerman believes it was Kobe stans who created the narrative that Wilt Chamberlain never scored 100 after seeing how they reacted to Bam scoring 83 😬 “It occurred to me after the Bam thing what’s actually going on. You know what that conspiracy about Wilt really was? That’s...

Bam Adebayo on tonight’s game: “To be able to move on to the next game, get the W, figure it out in a different way - it wasn't 83 tonight. It was 21. If anybody is upset, I don't care. We got the W, all that matters." Wilt. Bam. Kobe. Remember that.

Ty Lue on the negativity surrounding Bam’s 83 point performance: “He shouldn’t listen to them. He scored 83 points. It’s Wilt, Bam, Kobe. No matter what people talk about, what they’re saying is stupid. He got the record, no matter how he did it. Whatever happened he scored 83 points. Very happy for Bam. Very happy for Spo. It was a great night for Miami” (Via Mark Medina)

Stephen A Smith says Bam Adebayo 83 point game was impressive, but not how Kobe did it 😬 “Coach Erik Spoelstra who’s a great coach, didn’t look that great last night trying to facilitate Bam Adebayo getting the record, challenging calls, losing challenges just because they recognized history was in the making. THAT AINT HOW KOBE DID IT! — At end of the day, to be up 25 points, clearly chasing numbers, that’s not how Kobe did It. When we compare it there has to be 3 on the list… Kobe goes down as the single greatest performance we have ever witnessed. Wilt has to be number 2 because 100 is 100. Bam gotta be number 3. The bottom line is, he did It. Much respect to Bam… Look, he deserved credit for It, we just have to keep it a buck and understand there’s levels to these kind of performances” (Via

Vince Goodwill thinks Kobe ‘Stans’ are being hypocritical about Bam passing his 81 because Kobe stole the moment during Michael Jordan’s last All Star game in 2003: “Kobe Stans think the man did no wrong, better than MJ, they think the man was a basketball angel instead of what he really was. A competitive, ruthless, basketball demon. Stephen A you were at the All Star game in 03, that was supposed to be MJ moment. He hit the fadeaway over Shawn Marion and everybody thought the game was going to end then. What did Kobe Bryant do? Kobe said ‘this gonna be my moment! Forget Michael Jordan! Forget the story. I’m going for It!’ For Kobe Bryant stans to say Bam Adebayo shouldn’t have passed Kobe’s mark, I don’t think these people know who Kobe really was and what he stood for!” (Via First Take)

Mike Greenberg on people b*tching about Bam on Twitter: “For people on Twitter saying they made the end of that game bad, you never saw the end of that game in 1962 (wilt)… A relative thing happened that same night, the Knicks were intentionally fouling Chamberlain teammates so he wouldn’t try to go for 100 points. History doesn’t write down how you got there, history writes down the number. History will record forever that last night Bam Adebayo scored more points in any game ever except for Wilt Chamberlain” (Via Get Up)

Giannis Antetokounmpo on Bam Adebayo's 83 point game: "It doesn't matter how you get there. All that matters is that you got it. Like in 30 years from now, nobody's going to remember how many free throws he shot. I don't think I remember how many shots Kobe had or how many free throws he made or threes. All you remember is 81. Wilt, 100. You don't remember how they scored. So, at the end of the day, he got 83 points."

I’m blaming the game, the Miami Heat, the Wizards, I’m not blaming him. Bam Adebayo can ball! He’s not a scrub! It wasn’t equal to Kobe performance, to Wilt Chamberlain performance, none of that. Iman Shumpert with a message to any NBA player that has a issue with Bam scoring 83 👀 “I compare It to when Kobe did things that reminded me of Michael Jordan… I watched everybody have something to say, and the reason it made them mad, is because he got to do it on that stage. Anybody with a negative reaction of Bam breaking that record, is somebody who wants to know if they can score 85… We watch records be broken all the time. The only way to break a record like 81 is to shoot enough, and he did…. My hat goes off to him, they can’t take it away from you Bam. You are 2nd only to Wilt Chamberlain. Anybody that has something to say, tell them to score 85” (Via NBA on ESPN)

Nick Wright says sports debates ‘suck’ right now after the negative comments on Bam scoring 83: “This guy scored 83 points and the immediate conversation was ‘was that actually good or not?’ THE GUY SCORED 83 F*CKING POINTS! The first topic was ‘should he have tried? Should Bam have subbed himself out at 80 and said a prayer for Kobe as he walked off.’ WHAT ARE WE DOING? If someone wants to say ‘I was more impressed by Kobe 81 than Bam’s 83’, totally legitimate opinion. But that wasn’t the conversation I saw. The takes were ‘actually this is not good. He shouldn’t have tried to do it’ SHUT UP” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

Vernon Maxwell says Bam scoring 83 points was bad for the NBA and Kobe is rolling over in his grave 😬 “83 is 83 but the way he got it, it’s like fake news. I saw the game and towards the end it got sketchy. It was f*cked up! Washington was playing like they wanted to get the game over they were down 30 points. You got Miami players fouling them motherf*ckers. The 43 f*cking FTs? Good god that’s half of his motherf*cking points. Kobe is turning over in his grave. God bless you Kobe. There’s a lot of BS going on in the NBA and the sh*t you saw with Bam is part of it. It was a ugly look for the NBA” (Via ALL THE SMOKE)

Tyronn Lue had a great quote about Bam Adebayo’s 83-point performance and some of the criticism around it: “He shouldn't listen to it. He scored 83 points. It's Wilt, Bam, Kobe. It doesn't matter what people are talking about or saying. It's stupid. He got the record, no matter how he did it, or second best behind the 100. However he did it, whatever happened, he scored 83 points. That's something that's hard to do, no matter if you're playing against a high school team, a junior high team, 83 points is a lot of points. So I'm very happy for Bam, very happy for Spo, it was a great night for Miami.”

If you ever played this game before you know how hard it is to score 10, 20 points. 83 points I don't care who record he breaks. Bam I take my hat off to you. 83 you deserve to keep that sign.
