"Max Payne 3" Filtered. Fuck off 😂✌️

Why on God's Earth would you want a video game like Max Payne to have a non-linear approach to encounters. The entire appeal is that it's a linear sequence of John Woo/Michael Mann shootouts. Thats the whole deal.

I hate that Max Payne 3 gunplay is so fun and nothing of it carried over to GTA V

MP3 was a bit too restrictive when it comes to its level design in comparison to 1&2. 1&2 aren't massive but the areas where you shoot people are much bigger and you can explore freely for ammo and painkillers. There's also risky platforming challenges and that sniper mission

max payne 3 is horrible to replay because of the constant unskippable cutscenes

idk. in 1&2 you could go back and forth on a level cleaning out ammo and painkiller locations while 3 had these "segmented" points in levels where you go past a point of no return, be it a door being locked behind you, jumping down a floor or a cutscene stitching parts together.

Would be an easy 10/10 game if they didn't decide that interrupting the gameplay with a cutscene every 2 minutes was a good idea

I may not like the tone or story of MP3, but god the gunplay (when it's not trapping you in a cutscene) and the music is so awesome.

tbf there are also plenty of linear corridor levels that are more enclosed but they're still done well.

Incredible game absolutely begging for a modern indie clone, directed by a developer with a sense of style. There's so many different things you can do with the inherently fun and stylish gameplay they established—it's a shame everyone just wants to crank out the same four games.

Legit some games are just better off more linear. Take cod for example, in recent years they’ve tried to go more non linear an open world and it’s been horseshit, meanwhile the old mw and black ops games all still hold up and are immensely fun campaigns

I don't mind linear games. Wish we'd get more of them instead of just so many live service games and now these extraction shooters which will eventually end up slowly dying off like the live service and brs are.
