Max Szabo should resign as spokesperson for SF Mayoral candidate Daniel Lurie He thinks the Chesa Boudin recall success was “sad” He repeats “Crime is down” This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing who will extinguish any chance for Lurie becoming a common sense leader

This kind of political opportunist who we should never want to see around a candidate who wants to bring about principled common sense change Having this kind of sick-in-the-head policy hack close to you is cancerous
I think @DanielLurie needs to focus 100% on the drugs. Get the drugs out of San Francisco, frustrate the addicts and dealers to the point that they leave San Francisco. Mandate treatment forcefully. Crack down on quality of life crimes. Get the Feds involved, empower @BrookeJenkinsSF — Fix this and everything else gets better. This was not Chesa’s message, nor Gascons who don’t believe in prosecuting quality of life crimes. We need a new police chief in San Francisco. We need a new sheriff in town. We need a William Bratton not a William Scott. Where are the beat cops in the Tenderloin? Where is our broken window policing needed to clean up San Francisco? Maybe this Max Szabo guy has had an epiphany. I’m willing to hear him out, but I haven’t seen anything from him and videos like this send the wrong message. He doesn’t seem to have an X account which also seems bad for anyone associated with a public position in a campaign. Hopefully we hear from Szabo soon. Hopefully from @DanielLurie as well on this.

Either Lurie can’t hire, or he shares these views. I don’t know which is worse.

If Lurie doesn’t fire Szabo within 24 hours he’s not to be trusted. Anyone who wants Chesa in office or believes SFPD crime stats are reflective of reality should not get within shouting distance of City Hall.

Lurie spox Max Szabo also thinks Chesa Boudin "got a bad rap," restorative justice is a good thing, and an arrest serves as "accountability" even if there's no prosecution or further action from the justice system. At around 13 mins into this video...

I disagree, I think Lurie should keep Szabo. Lurie's campaign is a hot mess which gives us a hint how he would likely manage city hall

@ChesaBoudin subverted his role, abandoning his duties to advance a radical agenda, disregarding the job he was hired for and the oath he took. @BerkeleyLaw

Crime is down = People stopped reporting crimes (I know I did)

@SusanDReynolds My willingness to support Daniel Lurie has been suspended.

Chesa was a fantastic lighting rod for figuring out who the hard lefters were. He was so obviously terrible and destructive that no one who supported him should have a future in SF politics.
