Icelandair pilot under investigation after flying at a low altitude over the town of Vestmannaeyjar on Saturday. The Boeing 757 was on a scheduled flight from Frankfurt when the pilot on his last flight went on a sightseeing flight over his childhood home in the Westman Islands without the knowledge or permission of the company. Chief Flight Officer at Icelandair Linda Gunnarsdóttir said in a statement, "This is just a very serious matter that we will look into here internally. It's just the case in aviation that everything is very rigid in work processes, checklists and other things like that, what we do in normal passenger flights, and it doesn't fall within that framework." Linda says she expects passengers to have been informed about the sightseeing flight, but she cannot say that yet. She is also unable to comment at this time on the consequences for the pilot, who is leaving the company. The matter is, as previously stated, under consideration by the company.

The grandmother approached the home and had her grandson ring the doorbell before asking the woman on the other end “when will you be back”? She then told her that she needs to prepare to find a babysitter for the child and that her son, who is also the child's father, isn't one. She says her son has to work so she needs to step up and find childcare. The two women argued back and forth, the grandmother then raised the point that her son is “just” the baby daddy and only has to get the child every now and then. Interesting logic about his parental responsibilities.

Erika had already “upgraded” her seat so that she could have a window seat on the flight, but the gate agent and her supervisor refused to let her on unless she bought a second seat. Do you think the Southwest gate agent was right in doing so or should she have been allowed to prove that she could/couldn’t fit in the seat? Was this fat shaming or actual concern for the other passengers? I will say, Erika went toe to toe with Southwest over this issue and how it was handled. Should the policy for “plus size” passengers be displayed when purchasing airline tickets?
