The dunning-kruger valley of despair. If you don't feel a bit of that, you arent pushing yourself hard enough toward the cutting edge of tech to really grow. I had a job where I sat on an island doing almost nothing, just to fix it when things fell over. $20B project. Hated it.

If you ever feel like you have imposter syndrome just think that SAP has convinced people it's good HR software.

I’ve found that the presence of some degree of Imposter Syndrome is a prerequisite for competency in technology. It comes from knowing that despite many years of experience & learning that there is so much more to learn and that the body of knowledge is growing faster than any human can master. Accept your knowledge will always be incomplete and then google it like everyone else does anyway.

Don’t make your work your identity. It’s not healthy. You’re a whole person.

She needs to be a comic heroine for 70% of the people in IT out there. 10/10 would argue with comic book nerds about how she's not *really* a comic book hero because she's a feeeeeemaaaaaaaaaale.
