Are you actually a good holder? Holding a football is something that looks relatively easy. Then you realize you have to catch the ball at the same distance every single time, make quick adjustments using your hands, and set it exactly how the kicker wants it on every rep. When you think about it like that, it’s actually a pretty difficult task. Only if you don’t work at it. Becoming a great holder takes time. It’s doing the little things and getting as many real reps as you possibly can. This is a simple drill I worked on before I came back to the NFL. If you're an entrepreneur and you're taking a lot of risk, you wanna get five million bucks in T-bills sitting in account. That is what I call the f*** you money that gives you the power to do whatever you want. That protects you and you have to have the discipline to park that. You get to look at it every day and every month you get a big check off it, and leave it alone. Not everyone can get there, but if you get your first pass, take five and just put it into T-bills. Really boringo.

Brad Jacobs on identifying A players: "I do a mental exercise where I picture the person coming into my office and saying, 'Brad, I quit.' And then I try to feel and visualize what would be my reaction if that person came in to me and quit. If my reaction to that is, 'Yes! I don't want to smile, so I don't want to act like I'm happy about this. Nobody likes firing people. No problem at all, we'll replace them'—that's a C player. That's someone you should get the courage to get off the team right away. On the second category, if my reaction to it is, 'You know, it kind of sucks. Had to tap back in to all my guys out there who - like me - no longer have our fathers to say Happy Father’s Day to. My old man died suddenly a few years ago. Unfortunately, we got in a fight about a month earlier and I never reconciled with him or even had a chance to say goodbye. So for me, every Father’s Day has become very tricky because there’s a lot pain. But every Father’s Day is also one of my greatest days because I have three amazing daughters who tell me, I love you and Happy Fathers Day. To my guys out there, if your old man is still around - consider it a blessing. Even if you and your dad are working thru some complicated shit. I’ve been there and I understand. But do your best to reconcile and get that drama behind you and get right with your dad. It’s important. Because the alternative is regret and I don’t want that for you. Happy Fathers Day. You should be blaming the head coach. Get that first. I was not the one letting me go one-on-one the whole game until I had 70, and then you started to send a double. At that point, I got 70 with, like, what? nine minutes left to go in the game you think i'm not going for it like like and that's the thing that's crazy when they talk about the unethical part of the basketball i'm like if i have 70 points with 9 minutes to go Who would just be like, you know, coach, just take me out. Alabama HC Rob Vaughn on college baseball recruiting and the type of player you truly want in your program, no matter the level. “Our job in college baseball, yes, it's to win games. Yes, it's to develop big leaguers, and yes, it's all the things that we all talk about in recruiting, but more than anything, it's to prepare these kids to be successful for whatever comes next. And man, as good as the talent is in this league, as good as the talent is on this team, not all of them are going to be career big leaguers, you know. And I think what makes Tyler Fay’s journey so awesome, is in a world that is inundated with particularly moms and dads that want your kid to cut and run when when they're not starting every day or they're not playing every day. Write down on a piece of paper, the people you spend the most time with. Score them on positivity and negativity. If they're the most positive, they're a 10, if they're negative, they're a 1. Look at it, and send less time with people who have low scores. I'm not saying cut your mama out, I'm saying limit it a little bit. If your mother is the most negative person in your life, don't talk to her six times a day. Talk to her once every two days. That's just the way life is ... You are the byproduct of the positivity or negativity you consume.
