McGrath should never have taken any wickets by way of LBW. He bowled an unerring line and length of 8 inches wide and 4 inches high of off stump. Good for getting batters caught in the slips but ridiculous that he got so many LBWs.

McGrath and other senior Aussie bowlers picked up many wickets like this. If a senior Aussie bowler/ fielder appealed… umpire would go brain-fade and raise finger. And that’s why after DRS, they are no more world beaters as they were that time.

Wonder why this kind of howlers decisions aren't made anymore ever since DRS has come. This with Symonds not outs at Sydney, Steve buknor refusing to check with third umpire for stumping tells me it was clear case of favouring one side/fixing. Now those decisions would be+

Hmm the only grey area in DRS ( if u can call it) is this.. A) Lbw , umpire gives it not out , hitting 40% of leg stump..remains not out.. Umpire's call B) Lbw , umpire ->out, hitting only 20% of Leg .. but the call still stands.. A is more out than B..
