📍Mbale "Uganda’s future is built on clear foundations: production, jobs, strong systems, and stability." True development does not begin with speeches. It begins on the farm, in factories, in businesses, and in disciplined leadership. This message explains why protecting what we have achieved is critical, and why the Next...

Yesterday in Marondera during the Presidential Borehole Drilling scheme official unveiling, citizens expressed a clear and compelling vision: their focus is on development, not elections. This sentiment reflects a growing recognition that sustainable progress is achieved through investment in infrastructure, services, and livelihoods rather than prolonged political contestation. Having lived in the United Arab Emirates, I have witnessed firsthand how a nation can achieve remarkable transformation by channeling its energy into development. The UAE has built world-class infrastructure, diversified its economy, and elevated the quality of life for its people — all with limited emphasis on electoral processes. Their model demonstrates that when governance is anchored in delivery and efficiency, citizens benefit directly. For Zimbabwe, the message from Marondera is instructive. Communities are calling for reliable water supply, modern infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. These are the foundations of dignity and prosperity. Elections are important in any democracy, but they should not overshadow the urgent need for tangible progress. Policy must therefore prioritize development as the central pillar of governance. By focusing on service delivery, resource management, and inclusive growth, leadership can respond to the people’s call: progress before politics, development before elections. #CAB3Bhoo

Uganda is Industrializing . Yesterday morning, I had the honour of commissioning the 60th factory at Sino Park in Mbale . I want to warmly congratulate Chairman Jiyongling of Yangtze Industry Ltd, Sino Uganda-Mbale Industrial Park Chairman Paul Jang, and the entire team for bringing more investors, technology, production and jobs to Uganda. This is a historic investment because it is the first silicon and glue manufacturing factory of its kind in East and Central Africa. This is exactly the direction we want Uganda to take from exporting raw materials to adding value, manufacturing locally and exporting finished products. To our investors, Thank you for believing in Uganda! Thank you for investing in our peaceful, secure and increasingly industrialised nation . Your investment means jobs for our young people, opportunities for our entrepreneurs, markets for our farmers, skills for our workforce and stronger economic growth for our country. Under the leadership of H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni , Uganda has maintained the peace and stability necessary for businesses to invest and grow. On behalf of government , we shall continue strengthening security and creating an environment where investors can operate with confidence. I assured investors, government is also investing in electricity, roads, railway infrastructure and other critical infrastructure to lower the cost of doing business and connect Ugandan industries to the wider East African and regional markets. To investors around the world: Uganda is ready for you! Come and invest. Come and manufacture. Come and create jobs. Come and build with us! To our young people: the factories coming to Uganda are your opportunities. Get the skills, embrace technology, work hard and be ready to take your place in Uganda’s industrial revolution. Congratulations to the investors, management and workers of this great factory.
