New mass surveillance technology is being deployed in America, it will track Americans via Bluetooth connection from their devices If “you thought Flock was bad, something even more terrifying is being installed all over America. It's made by a defense contractor called Leonardo, and here's what it does” So the biggest problem with these LPRs, license plate readers like Flock, is that it needs to use a license plate to identify you This company has found a way around that They've made a device that can be installed next to any existing license plate reader that once it's installed, that next time they pull your license plate, it will pull all the unique Bluetooth identifiers from all the smart devices in your car. But it doesn’t stop there, it gets worse Once they have those devices, they link them to you via your license plate, and now they never need to scan your license plate again. These new sensors can be installed anywhere, and they can even see who's traveling with you It’s made by Leonardo DRS, they are a defense and technology company that works with U.S. military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies These devices are reportedly being deployed or tested in various US cities alongside existing LPR networks It’s called SignalTrace and it can be easily added onto any existing camera of their or Flock It’s described as “An advanced intelligence system that upgrades standard license plate readers to track people by their smart devices they carry, rather than just by their vehicles This is insane and should be federally banned. New Orleans Police secretly monitoring law abiding citizens with facial recognition cameras throughout the city “Wow, the police have gone too far with this one. In New Orleans, facial recognition is being used to monitor everyday people and compare them with wanted suspects or people around crime scenes. Not only are cameras in New Orleans being used to identify people with facial recognition, meaning that they're scanning people 24/7. You walk around, your face is being scanned. Not only is that the problem, but also this facial recognition system that the New Orleans Police Department is using and is actually pinging police officers phones as it scans and recognizes people that are either wanted or committed a crime or are a suspect of doing something worth monitoring and worth being notified about. I don't know about you, but as somebody who cares about my privacy, my security, this whole new world of facial recognition, biometric scanning, all of this stuff, it seems to be going a little bit too far. We already know facial recognition struggles to really identify people, especially people of color. So know that these, these technologies are very new. There's going to be a lot of nuances and a lot of people are not informed. If you are in New Orleans or you're around any major city, you better assume that this technology is being used against you. And if you're a regular, everyday, law abiding citizen, you have the opportunity to protect yourself now before other people really even catch on to this. — There is literally no better time to start protecting your privacy now and understanding facial recognition biometric, because this is where the entire world is headed.”
